Meet Heidi.
Heidi Walker
Heidi Walker is a proud native Floridian who grew up in Tampa, where her love for the water began at a young age. Whether in the pool, at the beach, or on the lakes, Heidi has always been drawn to the water. Her passion for swimming turned competitive at just five years old, and by her teenage years, she had set multiple age-group state records and competed at the national level. She went on to swim at the University of Georgia, where she earned Division I All-American status.
After earning her B.S.Ed. with a specialization in teaching students with special needs (K–12) and a certification in Health and Physical Education (K–12), Heidi combined her love for teaching with her passion for swimming. This led to a rewarding career in swim instruction, where she could share both her skills and her heart with children and families. Since 2019, she has been a valued member of the swimsprout team, specializing in water safety and survival lessons for children of all ages. Heidi’s joy shines through as she helps children master the essential skills that keep them safe and confident in the water.
Her dedication to water safety deepened when her own daughters—all of whom took lessons with Master Instructor and Owner, Heidi Burnett—sparked her interest in becoming more involved in survival swim instruction. A proud mother of four, Heidi has called Oviedo, FL, home for the past 25 years. Her oldest daughter is studying physical therapy at UCF, her second is pursuing business marketing at USF, and her two younger daughters attend Hagerty High School—one a published author and the other a standout athlete on her travel lacrosse team.
Heidi finds her greatest fulfillment in working closely with families, guiding them through the journey of water safety, and building skills that reach far beyond the pool. She loves being part of each child’s story of growth and takes pride in her ability to connect with both students and their families. Now, as she works toward becoming a Master Instructor, Heidi is committed to continuing her own professional growth, training new instructors, and ensuring that every family she serves has the best possible experience.
